Welcome to the Newsletter Editorial Board Page

The Newsletter Editorial Board is a task group of LIHNN.

 

Terms of reference:

Purpose: The Editorial Board will be to edit and publish LIHNNk-Up: the newsletter of the Library and Information Health Network Northwest (LIHNN).

The group aims to:

  • produce the newsletter a minimum of three times a year.
  • produce the printed newsletter in high-quality format.
  • publish the newsletter as a paper-based product and make it available electronically on the LIHNN/HCLU web site in PDF format with indices to authors, articles and photographs.
  • encourage contributions from new authors.

Membership of the group:

  • Membership is open to any LIHNN member but will not exceed 8 members at any one time.
  • Membership will also include one person from the NW Health Care Libraries Unit.
  • When appropriate, and after consultation with the members, the group may wish to co-opt additional members because of their expertise and/or experience.

Ways of working

  • The group will consist of an Editorial Board.
  • The group will be chaired by one of the members.
  • The Chair will serve for one year with an option of a further term.
  • Editor (s) will share the work of gathering articles and liaising with the publisher.
  • The writing of editorials for each issue will be rotated around the Board members.
  • An annual meeting will be held in November.
  • The group will conduct most of its business by e-mail and where required teleconferences may also be used.
  • The Health Care Libraries Unit will distribute the printed copies of the newsletter to all library staff working in NHS libraries or affiliated libraries.
  • All health library staff are encouraged to submit articles for inclusion in the newsletter by sending articles to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. which will forward to all members of the Board.
  • Guidance on what can be submitted and how to submit articles for inclusion is available.
  • Group members will act as commissioners of articles.
  • The Health Care Libraries Unit will distribute the printed copies of the newsletter to all library staff working in NHS libraries or affiliated libraries.

Feedback mechanisms

  • The HCLU member of the group will co-ordinate the posting of documents to the LIHNN/HCLU website.
  • A report on the activities of the group will be submitted to the LIHNN Chair for inclusion in the LIHNN Annual report or when reports are requested.
